Historical Context and Evolution:

The journey from traditional recruitment practices to AI-based systems highlights significant technological advancements. From physical interviews to virtual and AI-based recruitment, technology has streamlined and enhanced HR processes.

“Everything is virtually, we meet people virtually, we interview virtually. And then there comes a time when technology takes, I think, 10 levels up and we get introduced with something called AI-based interview, AI-based recruitment.” 
Adoption Challenges and Mindset Shift:

The main challenge lies in the mindset of adopting AI technologies, not the technologies themselves. HR professionals must understand the purpose and applicability of AI tools to integrate them effectively.

“People have been more decisive in taking the right steps. And particularly, they are at least not making the conscious bias and unconscious bias.”
AI Revolution in HR:

AI is transforming HR practices, from recruitment to employee engagement, making processes more efficient and effective. AI-based tools such as ATS and chatbots are revolutionizing candidate screening, reducing biases, and improving decision-making.

“Now the challenge comes that do you have that EI or the emotional intelligence to really understand that candidate? Or you really are looking for the kind of candidate who has the right EI to calibrate with the kind of artificial intelligence which you are trying to find him out. So it's a battle between EI and AI.”
Impact of AI on Recruitment:

AI facilitates virtual interviews and candidate assessments, particularly during the pandemic. AI's ability to handle large volumes of applications efficiently helps HR professionals focus on strategic tasks.

“AI is definitely helping us in screening the people, particularly understanding there are some areas how to, you know, screen the psychometry, how to understand the sentiment, how to understand certain psychological nuances, which sometimes the human mind failed to do.” 
Eliminating Bias with AI:

AI helps reduce conscious and unconscious biases in recruitment, ensuring a fairer hiring process. Technologies like psychometric analysis and sentiment analysis aid in making unbiased hiring decisions.

“People go by the kind of, you know, they're coming from the big, you know, IT companies. So that's why it has to be good or it is recommended by someone. So it has to be good. But we have to see what is the applicability or the relevancy of that software.”
AI in Employee Engagement:

AI tools can identify employee engagement patterns, provide personalized content, and suggest appropriate training programs. Employee wellness and well-being can be monitored and enhanced through AI, especially in post-pandemic scenarios.

“Most of the time people think that employee engagement is like how you engage employees. But why should you even do that? I think in the very first place, we should know that it's just to ensure that we are really getting people committed to their work.”
AI and Talent Retention:

AI helps in understanding employee behavior and productivity, contributing to better talent retention strategies. Monitoring digital activity and engagement patterns through AI can provide insights into employee satisfaction and areas for improvement.

“People have been working from home. And that is the time when we talk about wellbeing. But come on, how are we really prepared to handle this particular challenge? Just by, you know, bringing up a particular HR tech is not going to guarantee that. For that the HR and I mean the HR professionals have to be trained.”
Practical Applications of AI in HR:

Generative AI can create engaging content such as videos and presentations, enhancing communication and training. Digital interviews and asynchronous interviews facilitated by AI are becoming common, saving time and resources.

“Our HR model has become more effortless, how we can gradually fathom through thousands of series with the help of technologies like ATS, with the help of, you know, the AI based apps, which are really very helpful in understanding the right candidate criteria, particularly their skill set.”
The Importance of Trust and Culture:

Trust and a supportive culture are crucial for the successful implementation of AI technologies. HR leaders must instill trust and create awareness about the benefits and uses of AI tools.

“You have to get into the culture. And for that, you have to create awareness. And that is how these things are going to really become more effective. And of course, be productive when you are going to understand how this chain reaction starts.”
Future Trends and Scalability:

AI is expected to scale up and further modernize HR processes, making them more integrated into daily practices. As AI becomes more embedded in HR, the focus will shift to continuously adapting and evolving with technological advancements.

“It's like a reflex. So this technology is going to stay and we should see how we are going to adopt this technology. “
